Fall Equinox
Fall Equinox

We will be experiencing the Fall Equinox on Tuesday, September 22.

The Fall Equinox marks a shift in the energy of Yin and Yang. We begin moving away from the expansive Yang energy of summer and toward the quieter, more inward Yin energy of fall.

In BTB Feng Shui, this season is also connected to the area of the Bagua associated with children, joy, and completion. The element associated with this area is Metal, and its color is white.

If you think of pruning shears, you can get a sense of what this season carries: the energy to cut away what is no longer needed.

So, what can you do with this energy?

This is a wonderful time to think about what may be draining your energy and what areas of your home may need a little attention.

It can be a good time to declutter an area that you've been putting off. You can use the energy of Metal to symbolically ,and literally cut away things that have taken up too much space in your life.

Here are a few suggestions:

Start with your kitchen:

Take a look at your pantry. What do you have, and what might be missing? This can be a good time to restock the basics and get rid of anything that has expired.

Take a look at the center of your home:

In Feng Shui, the center of the home is associated with the health and overall energy of everyone who lives the space. Is this area clear, open, and cared for?

Another Suggestion is to look at your office and or desk.

Are there projects that you've been putting off? Make a list of what needs to be completed and begin tackling them one by one. Completion is part of the energy of this season.

As you do any of these tasks, bring your awareness back to yourself. Notice how your energy feels as you clear, organize, and complete.

I have lived in my house for 22 years, and recently I decided to choose one area of my garage to declutter.

If your garage is attached to your house and is considered part of the indoor space, the Bagua map is applied to it as part of the home. It took me several days to go through everything. I filled bags with items that needed to be taken to a special metal recycling facility. Some of these things had been sitting there for almost as long as I had lived in the house.

After I was finished, I felt incredibly lighter, it was a project that it I had put off for a long time.Sometimes we don't realize how much energy something is taking from us until we finally let it go. And using the brain energy to ignore it and put it off can be exhausting.

Perhaps this Fall Equinox is an invitation to look at one small area of your home, your workspace, or your life and ask:

What am I ready to cut away?

You don't have to do everything.

Choose one area. Begin there. And notice how you feel when you create a little more space.

Thank You for reading, if you know anyone that can benefit please join my email list and forward this to them. I would love to hear what your plans are and what area you'll be focusing on.

Warmly,

Sherry
